About us
Pro-EMA is a non-profit organization in Timor-Leste that empowers young women from vulnerable backgrounds through professional training and social impact businesses. We provide hands-on education through our restaurant-school, hotel-school, beauty salon, chocolate factory (Mehi Chocolate), and business incubator—creating real job opportunities and long-term change.
Led by a team of resilient women, including survivors of abuse, Pro-EMA also runs a Solidarity Kitchen that brings nutritious meals and health education to communities in need. Every service we offer is a step toward dignity, independence, and a brighter future for girls and young women across Timor-Leste.
Pro-EMA hopes for a world were there are no gender discrimination!
Our Mission
To promote capacity-building and personal, educational, social and economic development for
vulnerable girls and young women living in underdeveloped communities in Timor-Leste, in order to
strengthen their autonomy, raise their leadership and increase their employability.

Our Vision
Our vision is to be an institution that effectively contributes to the integral development of girls and
young women in Timor-Leste.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Pro-EMA: dream-making for young women in
